Scarlett Johansson - American Actress and Singer (born in NYC on 22 November 1984) The versatility of her work as an actress has brought many accolades, from dramas of the past to suspenseful films and even adventures. Johansson grew up in New York City as the daughter of an architect, and also a production company. Her twin brother Hunter and she were the youngest siblings. She began to develop an interest in acting at an early age, and began auditioning for commercials at age seven. Soon after she enrolled at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute and then took classes at the Professional Children's School in Manhattan to further hone her craft. In the age of eight, she starred with Ethan Hawke in the Off-Broadway production Sophistry and, at the age of nine she made her debut in film as Rob Reiner's North (1994). Johansson made her debut in Just Cause, but she first made an appearance in Manny & Lo, a film about siblings left behind by their parents who run away. For The Horse Whisperer, Johansson as a teen victim of an incredibly tragic accident. Her role in Ghost World brought her more fame as the outcast teen Rebecca.
