Cynthia started her long running career in the business shifting into New York to pursue a modeling career. Within a few months Cynthia was signed to a five-year agreement for a 5-year contract with Wihelmina Models. It led to a highly popular book and design for Essence Magazine. Cynthia's cover design for Essence wasn't just one of their best cover designs, but it was Susan Taylor's favorite. Cynthia was soon to book her second cover. This set her career in motion. Following her move to Paris Cynthia was seen strutting down her Paris Fashion Week runways and Milan Fashion Week. Cynthia was highly sought-after when she returned back to New York City from living in Europe for almost an entire year. Her campaigns included Maybelline Oil of Olay, Macy's, and Macy's. Elle's Essence's, Vanity Fair magazine editorials soon followed. Cynthia's professional career was further boosted after getting picked over Naomi Campbell for the co-starring part in "Without You I'm Not Anything" with Sandra Bernhadt.
